Can you get HIV from a mosquito bite? Is it true that an HIV-infected person taking therapy does not transmit the virus? What are the main myths about HIV still alive in society, and why are they dangerous?
These and many other questions were discussed with students of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions during the lecture "Immunodeficiency Virus. Danger to Humans" by scientist, specialist in pathological physiology, researcher, educator, and healthcare organizer, Academician Nikolay Belyakov.
Together with the students, the guest reflects on how the virus is transmitted, why it's important to get tested for HIV even if a person feels healthy, and what modern treatments allow living a full life.
