History of the Moscow Regional Branch of SPbGHUP "Institute of Arts and Information Technologies"
The Moscow Regional Branch of the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions "Institute of Arts and Information Technologies" was opened in 2001 by the decision of the main university. It absorbed the best experience of the renowned educational institution. The branch is an integral part of the University, preserving and developing its traditions in Moscow.
The branch is located in the northwest of Moscow, near Zelenograd. It is a 20-minute drive from Sheremetyevo Airport and the Moscow Ring Road. The branch is situated among century-old oaks, ash trees, and linden trees, in a picturesque, ecologically clean location with a beautiful park area. A wide avenue, immersed in greenery, leads to the main entrance of the institute. Here you recharge with energy for the entire school day. After classes, you can stroll along tree-lined alleys, play volleyball, basketball, or soccer on a field with natural grass, or train on sports grounds.

In winter, skiing and skating. Barbecues and songs around the campfire are part of the branch's traditions. Students can freely use the large indoor pool year-round. Perhaps only a few American universities offer students such conditions for health improvement and sports activities.
Engaging in creativity and exploring various forms and genres of art will be unforgettable years within the university walls. Cultural programs conducted by the university include getting acquainted with Moscow’s heritage, visiting exhibitions, museums, and excursions. Overall, the educational model of the institute is aimed at forming the qualities of a new millennium intellectual.
Training at the branch is conducted in the most in-demand areas: "Applied Informatics", "Advertising and Public Relations", "Conflictology", "Economics", "Management", "Socio-Cultural Activities", and "Art History". Over the years, the branch has provided more than 6,500 graduates with a path to successful professional careers, offering them prestigious, high-paying jobs. The university works with the most advanced programs developed at SPbGHUP based on an innovative cultura-centric educational concept that guarantees employment for graduates in high positions across Moscow, St. Petersburg, and throughout Russia.
A unique advantage of the branch is studying in two capitals. First-year courses are taught in Moscow, and the final year is completed in St. Petersburg, where students take their state exams, defend their final qualification work, and receive a diploma from SPbGHUP, one of the most prestigious universities in the country.

At the Moscow Branch, a worthy scientific school has been established, represented by highly qualified scientific and teaching staff. Branch students not only use the library fund of the branch, which includes over 250,000 books, but are also fully connected to the information system of the main university, providing extensive material for academic work and acquiring cutting-edge knowledge.
In the fourth year, each student is assigned a personal curator from the faculty of the main university, who helps gather necessary materials for their thesis and guides the writing of academic papers. Not every university offers such an opportunity.
In St. Petersburg, a branch student enters the unique environment of the world’s most beautiful city, the cultural capital of Russia. The university organizes vibrant cultural programs for them. Accommodation in a comfortable, unique student residence allows a branch representative to invite family members to St. Petersburg, which the university encourages, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural life of St. Petersburg.
The main university – St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions has existed since 1926. During Soviet times, the university trained managerial personnel for major institutions in the socio-cultural sphere of the Soviet Union – regional and republican palaces of culture, major tourist organizations, and resorts. Up to 30% of the students were representatives from Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and several Asian countries. As a result, SPbGHUP enjoys the highest prestige not only in Russia but also internationally. For the past 30 years, the university has been led by Alexander Sergeevich Zapryesotsky, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an academician of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Cultural Studies, professor, Honored Scientist of Russia, and Honored Artist of Russia.
The university employs about 80 doctors of science and professors, more than 150 candidates of science and associate professors, and 38 people’s artists and honored figures in science, culture, art, and jurisprudence. SPbGHUP hosts over 20 large-scale scientific conferences annually.
In recent years, the university has published over 500,000 copies of scientific and educational literature. SPbGHUP is among the leaders of the Russian university community in almost all indicators of education quality.
The material base of SPbGHUP is unique and has no close analogs in the global educational space. The university consistently inspires admiration from everyone who encounters it, and American journalists call it "a synthesis of Harvard and Hollywood."

Upon completing SPbGHUP, branch representatives receive a powerful boost to their career growth, securing prestigious positions in government management bodies and trade union organizations.
